Kobbie Mainoo has committed his future to Manchester United by signing a new deal that runs until 2031, ending months of speculation about his next move.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who has been with the club since joining its academy in 2014, has already featured 98 times for United. He scored the winning goal in the 2024 FA Cup final and also represented England in the Euro 2024 final.

“Manchester United has always been my home — this special club means everything to my family,” Mainoo said. “I’ve grown up witnessing the impact this club has on the city, and I embrace the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt.”

United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, praised Mainoo as one of the most naturally gifted young players in the game.

“His technical quality, strong professionalism, and humble character make him an ideal role model for our younger players and a shining example of our academy system,” Wilcox said.

“We’re thrilled that Kobbie has extended his stay and are confident he will grow into one of the world’s best players, playing a key role in a Manchester United side competing for the biggest trophies.”
