Victory for Rev. Chidiebere Amakaeze as He Takes Possession of Abuja Property Housing Cubana Lounge
Rev. Chidiebere Amakaeze finally took possession of Plot 81, Ademola Adetokumbo Crescent, Wuse 11, Abuja, last Friday, the property that houses the popular Cubana Lounge.
Rev. Amakaeze has been engaged in a legal battle with businessman and social media celebrity Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, over the ownership of the prime property.
However, an indication that he has finally succeeded became manifest last Friday as members of staff of the popular Lounge and others suspected to be hired hands were seen packing their properties from the building.
Also, a document indicating the enforcement order of court affirming ownership of the property was prominently pasted on the building.
The eviction of the Cubana owned lounge from the property followed the enforcement of the judgment that confirmed Rev. Amakaeze as the landlord of the building.
A High Court of Federal Capital Territory sitting in Gwagwalada had in a judgment on 3rd July 2025 granted the right of possession of the property to Rev. Amakeze in a suit filed against SEMC-Investment Ltd. and one Onwuzulike Collins.
This was after the court decided that Rev. Amakaeze duly purchased the property from the said Onwuzulike Collins at an agreed sum of N2 billion.
The Court based its verdict on Power of Attorney and Deed of Assignment which transferred ownership to him duly executed with effect from 1 May, 2024.

Court Grants Rev. Amakaeze Possession of Abuja Property, Orders Obi Cubana to Vacate
The court noted that despite the deed of assignment, the claimants had been unable to take possession of the property.
Presided over by Justice J.A. Aina, the court granted Rev. Chidiebere Amakaeze the right of possession and use of the property at Plot 81, Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja, having established that he lawfully purchased it.
The court ordered the defendants to immediately vacate the property and directed the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, Abuja FCT, and other security agencies to assist Rev. Amakaeze in lawfully taking possession, occupation, and use of the property.
Additionally, the court awarded costs of ₦10 million against the defendants for prosecuting the matter.
Notably, the defendants did not contest the ownership of the property in their counter-affidavit.
Prior to the enforcement of the court order on Friday, the solicitors representing Rev. Amakaeze, Prince Ben S. Ikani Esq. and E.I. Nwafor Esq. of Citadel of Justice Law Firm, Abuja, had repeatedly requested that Obi Cubana vacate the premises.
