“Our brother in Christ, Evangelist Daniel Who made a video reporting bandits Attack In Agboda village in Nasarawa State has been arrested and in detention for the past 12 hours according to his wife Elizabeth Ukpo Daniel,” the post said.
In the video he shared, people were seen running in different directions amid fears of a reported herdsmen attack on the church crusade programme.
Vibeslyfe attempted to reach the Nasarawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, but calls to his line were not answered as of the time of filing this report.
Apprehension has continued to rise across Nigeria over increasing bandit attacks that have seen many citizens kidnapped and others killed.
Recently, a church in Kwara State was attacked during a service, leaving three worshippers dead.
Vibeslyfe also reported that a parent of some of the abducted schoolchildren from St. Mary School in Niger State died recently.
This was disclosed by Rev. John Hayab, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Northern Region & Federal Capital Territory, who said the parent died of a heart attack.
“One of the parents of the abducted children from the school, died yesterday of a heart attack,” he said while speaking on AriseTV on Tuesday.
“Mr Anthony died of a heart attack following the abduction of his three children.”
“People don’t understand that when you tell it as it is, you’re not speaking against anybody, you are only trying to state the problem,” he said.
“The pains, the trauma are still very fresh. We tried speaking to the parents today, and they were scared of speaking to us.”
Earlier, SaharaReporters reported that 50 pupils abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools, Papiri, Niger State, had escaped and reunited with their parents.
According to school authorities on Sunday, the escape occurred days after terrorists attacked the school and abducted over 300 pupils and staff members.
